Tonight there will be a meteor shower. When it's a clear night the Perseids are fun to watch. I believe the best time to view them is between 1am and sunrise.

This is probably old news to most people, but I just spent some time to explore the My Maps feature in google maps.
The public maps are interesting and the most useful one is the 'Marine Weather Obversvations' map. Surf conditions for almost
anywhere!

For those that worked at MUSC in 2001 will remember the restaurant called The Daily Dose. It seems that they are still around, but have changed locations to James Island. The also have a myspace page.

Due to lack of internet access and the usual blog laziness, I have failed to post the big news that Kally and I have moved back to Charleston. We arrived here Tuesday , May 8th ,after a long road trip across the country. The route we took was north along the California coast all the way to Portland, Oregon and then across country. I believe Kally is posting a photo journal and if I can release the grip of laziness and actually get internet access at home, then I might post more about this trip. :)

For now this update will have to do.

Its nice to be back in Charleston. Right now I am just realizing what I missed about the place. It still feels like I am just visiting.

One of the local surf photographers in LA got me and my buddy John on camera. The waves weren't very nice shape that day. Wednesday was much better.

Last weekend a few of us went to Tahoe. It was a short but fun trip. Here are the pics.

I took advantage of some airline miles and went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico this past weekend. The plan was to get some of the surf that southern california was going to get. I was completely wrong about that. The spot Kally and I stayed at was on the southern tip of Baja and facing south east. This is the wrong direction for the surf that was coming. The trip was still fun. Kally and I ended up taking it easy on the beach and exploring the area a little bit. I learned a little more spanish, but I am still chicken to initiate conversations in spanish. Nothing terribly eventful happened, but we did see a car explode into flames. We were at a real estate office, trying to get into the condo we rented, and a car pulls up in front billowing smoke. After a minute or two it went up in flames. After 5 minutes the car was completely charred. The fire department arrived in about six minutes. Kally took pictures and will probably post them soon. I'll link the pics here.

Well, I am back at work and trying to adjust. It will be a slow and soul destroying process. Atleast there are potentially good changes on the horizon.

For Christmas I received several Nintendo DS games. Needless to say they have consumed numerous hours of my free time. I have been reintroduced to the addiction that Final Fantasy has. Hopefully I can cut down on the game play. I am at the final stages of Final Fantasy 3. If only they cut out that tedious process of "leveling up".

I discovered a website called twitter.com. Its an interesting concept, but does anyone really want to have these continous updates about your friends? My rss feeds are already too cluttered.

It was nice to hang out with my Family in chucktown.


Now for 2007, the year I turn 30.

We had some decent size waves in LA this weekend. I ended up driving around with a few friends looking for empty spots and sure enough we found one. Kally was kind enough to take pictures.

Here are pictures from July 4th. A group of us decided to bike down the board walk in Santa Moncica/Venice and do some bar hopping along the way. Very fun and very reckless biking towards the end of the night.

I am officially signed up for the alcatraz swim. I have until september 16th to be able to swim 1.5 miles of open ocean.
